Laura Kemp
author : Laura KempLaura is a teacher who loves to write about her home state of Michigan. She has a B.A. in Creative Writing from Western Michigan University where she studied under Stuart Dybek. While at WMU, her short story 'The Pursuit of Happiness' was chosen as a finalist in the Trial Balloon Fiction contest. Her short stories and poetry have appeared in 'Chicken Soup for the Soul', 'Tonopalah Review', 'SLAB- Sound and Literary Art Book', 'Word Riot' and 'SaLit.' Her novel 'Evening in the Yellow Wood' was released through Pandamoon Publishing in December 2018 and is the first in a paranormal mystery series set in northern Michigan. \nWhen not writing, Laura likes to read, hike, swim, perform in theater and sing with her Celtic band Si Bhaeg Si Mohr. She also loves spending time with her husband, four children, one dog, five cats, three hamsters, two horses and ten chickens. \n\n'Evening in the Yellow Wood' received the Bronze Medal in Paranormal Fiction in the annual Readers' Favorite Book Contest, and will be featured at the 2019 Miami Book Fair in November.
